Native American Fish and Wildlife Society Resolutions

Tribal Conservation Officers performing exceptional work are awarded each year during the NAFWS national conference. They are nominated by members of the NAFWS and their outstanding work is a reflection of their dedication as tribal conservation law enforcement officers.

2023 RESOLUTIONS

Board Resolutions

Resolution to approve the Signature of Authority for NAFWS. This Resolution approved named Board members having signature authority in dealings with banks, credit cards and etc. Resolution was passed on April 23, 2023 during the Board of Directors meeting at the 40th Annual National Conference in Anchorage, AK. Meeting was in-person.

Resolutions Passed at NAFWS National Conference

Resolution for the creation of NPWMWG-NAFWS Liaison. This resolution approved the creation of a liaison position to support communications between the Native Peoples Wildlife Management Working Group of the Wildlife Society and NAFWS. Resolution was passed on April 26, 2023 during the Business Meeting at the 40th Annual National Conference in Anchorage, AK.

2022 RESOLUTIONS

Resolution for NAFWS to Enter into a P.L. 93-638 Contract with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, This resolution approving NAFWS to enter into a P.L. 93-638 contract with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service was passed January 12, 2022.

Resolution for NAFWS to apply for BIA Tribal Climate Resilience Program Funding, this resolution approving NAFWS to apply for BIA Tribal Climate Resilience Program Funding was passed May 27, 2022.

Resolution approval for NAFWS to develop an International Hunter’s Education Association certified Hunter’s Education Program, this resolution approving NAFWS to develop a Hunter’s Education Program through the International Hunter’s Education Association was passed on May 8th, 2022.

Great Lakes Region – Establish Conservation Law Enforcement Officer (CLEO) Program within BIA Natural Resources at $30 Million Annually, this resolution supporting the establishment of a Conservation Law Enforcement Officer (CLEO) Program within BIA Natural Resources at $30 Million Annually was passed September 20, 2022.

Great Lakes Region – Increase the National BIA Hatchery Operations Funds to $25 million Annually, this resolution in support of Increasing the National BIA Hatchery Operations Funds to $25 Million Annually was passed on September 20, 2022.

2021 RESOLUTIONS

Resolutions Passed at NAFWS December Board Meeting

Resolution to Approve NAFWS to Apply for the 2022 BIA Youth Initiative Grant, This resolution approving the NAFWS Education Coordinator to apply for the Bureau of Indian Affairs 2022 Youth Initiative Grant for the 2022 National Summer Youth Practicum (SYP) was passed December 1, 2021 during the December board meeting that took place remotely.

Resolution in Support for the Protection of Wildlife Corridors, This Resolution in Support for the Protection of Wildlife Corridors was passed October 5, 2021 during the 2021 NAFWS National Conference in Spokane, WA.

This Resolution in Support of the Protection of Caja del Rio, the Ancestral Lands of the Pueblo People, was passed October 5, 2021 during the 2021 NAFWS National Conference in Spokane, WA.

Resolution in Support for the Proposed North American Grasslands Conservation Act, This Resolution in Support for the Proposed North American Grasslands Conservation Act was passed October 5, 2021 during the 2021 NAFWS National Conference in Spokane, WA.
