Wildlife Field Forensics

Dates: June 3-5, 2025
Wildlife Field Forensics is an advanced training course for wildlife investigators with the objective of providing skills and techniques used to process a wildlife crime scene. Participants will experience both lecture and field exercises focused on the following topics:

Decomposition analysis for time of death estimates

Forensic entomology and decomposition basics plus insect collection protocols

Wildlife human attack investigation techniques

Field firearms and ammunition examination techniques

GPS for evidentiary purposes

Field necropsy lecture presentation and demo

Basics of DNA analysis and tissue collection protocols

Relevant case histories
Course Registration:
*NAFWS Members receive exclusive registration access to this course until April 2nd.*
NAFWS members or Member Tribes: There will be no registration costs for NAFWS members or member Tribes.
NAFWS Non-member: If you are not a member or from a non-member Tribe, the cost of this course is $150.
All participants will be responsible for their own lodging from June 2-6 2025
